Massachusetts 21-year-old Jack Douglas Teixeira says top-secret defense and intelligence documents related to Russia’s war in Ukraine have been shared on a Discord channel used by a group calling itself “Sag Shaker Central.” was subsequently detained.

Some thoughts:

  • Don’t get distracted by remote hackers working for enemy nations and overlook the potential threat posed by insiders.
  • The leaker’s motive may not be to harm you or make money. They may just be showing off to their peers.
  • Boasting about your work online is not a good idea if you want to remain truly anonymous.

Jack Teixeira is scheduled to appear in court in Boston tomorrow.
