Austrian mobility company Vello has given a new take on the lightweight Bike+ folding e-bike that was kickstarted in 2016. The company has now added his three external gears combined with a drive system that effectively doubles the gear range six times his.

The Bike+ Gears ebike rolls on 20″ wheels and is fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Original 40-406 tires on the chromoly model and Schwalbe Kojak 35-406 tires on the titanium version. Braking power is provided by hydraulic disc brakes.
Following its debut at Milan Design Week, the new Vello Bike+ Gears folder will be unveiled at the cycle show in London from 21-23 April. Titanium is 1,000 yen. Either way, expect an additional €300 for the Schlumpf Speed or Mountain Drive options. For reference, Automatic models start at €3,290/€4,490.
