Parker Poe is seeking a full-time patent prosecution associate to join their Intellectual Property Practice Group in Greenville, South Carolina. This is a great opportunity to work with a close-knit team with a strong customer base of domestic and international customers.

Parker Poe’s team includes US registered patent attorneys, board-certified trademark law experts, and attorneys recognized by their peers in the Premier Guide to Legal Professionals. We have built a deep knowledge of patents, trademarks, copyrights, IT contracts, trade secrets, and other areas of intellectual property.
Main duties:
This role includes drafting and prosecuting national and international patent applications, complex patent office procedures, developing strategic patent portfolios, and other patent-related counseling including opinions and post-grant projects. This role may also include projects related to intellectual property litigation, trademarks, technology deals and contracts.
Required and preferred qualifications:
- Candidates should have a minimum of two to five years of experience prosecuting US patent applications, including drafting utility models and responding to office actions.
- Applicants must be registered to practice with the USPTO.
- Background or experience in chemistry, materials, or mechanical technology is preferred.
