Some companies make electric bikes that look like regular bikes, while others revel in the whole “this is the bike Tron might ride” thing. The company OKGO is actively working on the latter with its carbon-framed smart E-Bike.
The Smart E-Bike, now in functional prototype form, was unveiled at last month’s Taipei Cycle Bike Show. Designed for urban use.
Along with the striking carbon fiber frame, one of the bike’s most prominent features is the smart bike display integrated into the handlebar. This touchscreen shows everything you would normally see on an ebike: current speed, distance traveled, navigation prompts, electric assist modes (there are 5 of them) and battery charge level.

That said, the display also accepts voice commands, can unlock the bike’s drive system via a fingerprint scan, and even provides alerts for vehicles approaching from behind. It takes the form of both on-screen symbols and handlebar grip vibrations, thanks to the radar module integrated into the .
The bar also incorporates a central headlight, a button-activated turn signal on the front, and a light that projects the turn signal symbol onto the road next to the bike.
Additionally, the bikes are connected to the internet via 4G, allowing over-the-air firmware updates, the ability to remotely give others access to your bikes, and fleet bike monitoring.

Existing Smart E-Bikes are primarily designed for demonstration purposes, so not much information is provided on regular E-Bike specifications. What we do know is that it has Kindshock rear suspension (no front suspension), mechanical disc brakes, rear hub motor, downtube integrated battery and a traditional chain drive rear derailleur drivetrain.
An OKGO rep said the company sells the technology directly to other companies, not individual consumers, so there are no hard numbers on pricing or availability.
