Consistent bedtime and wake-up times can affect circadian rhythms, desynchronize various physiological processes in the body, and increase the risk of death within a period of time. However, pre-existing medical conditions can also affect sleep. Therefore, these inconsistent sleep habits may correlate rather than cause an increased risk of death over time.
