surprise! $30 cheaper than the RTX 4060 Ti, but not in the same class
AMD is currently releasing the high-end and low-end of the RDNA 3 family while the mid-end is yet to be released. Don’t be fooled by the similar release dates. It is not intended to compete with NVIDIA’s latest cards. The fact that it’s $130 cheaper is a total perk. Instead, the RX 7600 is meant to compete with the older $310+ RTX 3060 and AMD’s previous generation RX 6600 which launched at $330 and is now available for just over $200.
With that in mind, we find the RX 7600 somewhat interesting as long as you’re gaming at 1080p. It leaves the previous generation GPU alone and outperforms NVIDIA’s new cards across the board by a significant percentage. The RX 7600 can be considered an upgrade from the RX 6600, but that’s not necessarily the case with the RTX 4060 Ti. The RX 6700 is better than its predecessor if you want to turn on ray tracing, but you still need FSR to get playable frame rates and it still seems to outperform the old RTX 3060. Often.
If you’re looking to play games at higher resolutions, we recommend waiting until AMD fills in the gaps for the RDNA 3 family. On the other hand, if you want a card that fits easily into a small form factor system and you have a low-end card from generation 1 or 3 back, consider this card.
