Hacking forum hacked, user database leaked online

RaidForums, the notorious hacking and data breach forum that was seized and shut down by authorities in April 2022, is perhaps surprisingly at the center of a new cybersecurity breach.

Because it looks like the hacking site RaidForums has been… erm… hacked.

But in March of this year, the U.S. Department of Justice announced it had forced BreachForums offline and arrested its alleged founder, 20-year-old Connor Brian Fitzpatrick, aka “Pompompurin.”

Once again, those who like to frequent criminal hacking forums need to find a new home. Some members of the site may have worried that authorities could spy on their communications and gather evidence of various wrongdoings.

So have they given up on a life of cybercrime? Far from it! Many of them joined a new hacking forum called ExposeForums.

And it was this site that supposedly leaked RaidForums’ user database, potentially providing a large amount of potentially sensitive information to law enforcement agencies, security researchers, and – yes – other cybercriminals. I have.

according to Peep computerthe data contains details of 478,870 RaidForums members and “includes usernames, email addresses, hashed passwords, registration dates, and various other information related to the forum software.” .

It’s possible that this information (and possibly more) has been in the hands of law enforcement since the RaidForums website was seized in April 2022, but it’s also interesting to others. there is no doubt.

Being a member of hacking forums such as RaidForums, BreachForums and ExposeForums can be pretty nerve-wracking… Knowing when your favorite cybercrime haunt is being seized by the police, what information they have about you. I don’t know if I can know. .
