AMD Data Center and AI Technology Premiere Live Blog (Starts at 10am PT/17:00 UTC)

This morning AMD is hosting an event focused on data centers and servers for the first time in a while. Dubbed the “AMD Data Center and AI Technology Premiere,” the event is expected to see a number of announcements from AMD across its server and AI product portfolio.

Highlighting this should be new news about AMD’s upcoming MI300 accelerator that combines Zen 4 CPU cores and CDNA 3 GPU cores on a single chip. This is the company’s first server APU. Targeting the very high end of the market, the MI300 is expected to ship later this year, making it AMD’s flagship accelerator and the most important product yet for the exploding AI market.

Additional details are also expected on AMD’s remaining server CPU offerings this year. This includes density-focused Bergamo CPUs that offer up to 128 CPU cores based on AMD’s Zen 4c architecture. Genoa-X is AMD’s V-cached version of the EPYC 9004 series offering up to 1.1 GB of L3 cache per chip. And Siena is a low cost EPYC chip with 64 cores.

Not to be missed, AMD also has an FPGA division and a networking division thanks to its recent acquisitions of Xilinx and Pensando. These teams are also hard at work on their own products that will be announced as well.
